Natalka Vorozhbyta playwright, screenwriter, director, supervisor of social and theatre projects.

Promotes the development of contemporary Ukrainian drama and documentary theatre. Co-founder of the Topical Play Week and the Theatre of the Displaced, co-author of the Maidan Diaries  documentary, supervisor of the Class Act: East-West – social and theatre project, etc. Most of these projects involve interaction with the people who have been going though the war in the East of Ukraine.

Author of about two dozen plays which have been staged all over the world, including the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal Court Theatre (UK), and translated into various foreign  languages (some published as a book). Most popular plays: “The Grain Store”, “The Maidan Diaries”, “Bad RoadsandSasha, Take Out the Trash”all dedicated to important dramatic events in Ukraine.

Golden Dzygafor the best screenplay for the feature film “Cyborgs” (directed by Akhtem Seitablayev) (2017).

Screenplay writer and show runner for “To Catch the Kaidash” – the 2021 top TV show that earned the national award “Golden Dzyga”.

Directed her debut film “Bad Roads” – cinema club award in parallel section of the Venice Film Festival – “International Critics’ Week” for the best innovative film, three “Kinokolo” awards and four “Golden Dzygas”, including one for the best screenplay.

The Ukrainian Oscar Committee chose “Bad Roads” to run for Oscar in 2021.

Holder of the national Shevchenko award  (2022) for the play “Bad Roads”, and the Dovzhenko national award for contribution to the art of cinema (2021).
