Serhiy Viktorovych Zhadan (born 23 August 1974) in Starobilsk, Voroshilovgrad Oblast, now Ukraine) – a Ukrainian novelist, translator, public figure and frontman of “Zhadan and the Dogs” (Zhadan I sobaky) and “Mannerheim Line” (Liniya Mannergeima). Author of novels “Depeche Mode”, “Voroshilovgrad”, “Mesopotamia”, “The Orphanage”, poetry collections “Quotations”. “Ethiopia”, “Life of Maria”, “Templars”, “Antenna”, “The Ships List”, etc.

Literary works won him numerous national and international awards, and have been translated into two dozen languages, making the author one of the most renowned contemporary Ukrainian writers. Serhiy Zhadan is an activist and promoter of literary life in Ukraine and participant of multimedia art projects. In 2017, he founded the Serhiy Zhadan Charitable Foundation. Radio presenter on Tryzub FM and Radio NV.
