Marcin Szczyciński

Marcin Szczyciński – a translator, a graduate of the Department of Philology at the University of Wrocław. He also studied at the Tomsk State Pedagogical University as part of the Erasmus Mundus program. Took courses for the beginner translators at the Polish-Russian Center for Dialogue and Consent “Words for Words”. Translates from Polish into Russian and from Russian into Polish. He translated plays by Dmytro Ternovyi, H.Artemyeva and O. Rachova (the translation of “Book 58. Without Exemptions” was nominated for the Ryszard Kapuszczynski Prize), articles, interviews, etc. He speaks Polish, Russian, German and English. He is learning Spanish, Ukrainian and Belarusian. In school, he was associated with the Teatr Brama (Goleniów, Poland) and in his student years - with the Teatr Krzyk (Maszewo, Poland). He was with the Krzyk on the theater’s first visit to Kharkiv in 2011. He is now helping the theater to organize international projects. A native of Goleniów, he now lives in Leipzig.
