Mariia Silchuk

My name is Mariia, I was born in Ukraine, in 1992. I've spent all my childhood and youth in Zaporizhzhya, an industrial city managing to combine stunning nature and multiple factories. From my youngest age, I was surrounded by beauty, literature and good friends and mentors.

In 2014, I've graduated Zaporizhzhya National University, with a Master of English Language and Literature in my pocket, and a great dream to master French to perfection. Right after graduation, I moved to Paris, where I was accepted to La Sorbonne, where I studied business language and negotiation. Since then, I can't imagine my life without the strength and imagination of the French people, but also without their food, good taste and savoir vivre. Il 2017, I started working as a project manager, and nowadays I'm a Media Trader in a French company called Heroiks. In 2022, war entered into my life, and that of millions of Ukrainians. I felt really lucky to translate a great play "A prayer for Elvis" tackling the questions of life and death, of war and peace, of values, identity and choices.
