Joel Rakos is an American author and resident of Ukraine for 26 years. As Iľja Rákoš, he is a staff writer at the American literary journal The Millions where his work focuses on the interplay of eastern European and Anglo-American cultures. He has produced a substantial body of English translation from Ukrainian and Russian of both contemporary and classical works of poetry, prose, and for the stage and screen.
