On November 18, 2022- November 20, 2022, Kammertheater of Schauspiel Stuttgart in Germany presented the play Gorkis Mother written by Lena Lagushonkova and directed by Maksym Holenko, who is an artistic director of Odesa Academic Ukrainian Music and Drama Theatre. Four Ukrainian actresses, Inna Bulbotko, Senia Doliak, Diana Kalandarishvili, and Tetyana Krulikovska took part in the play.
Gorkis Mother revolves around a mother, her sisters, grooms, the Greeks and Donbas. It is set in a small town in Eastern Ukraine that undergoes revolutionary changes from 1960 to 2022. It is a story of a family that struggled for survival amidst the cataclysmic upheaval and hard times. As it searches for answers to present problems, the play takes audiences back in time to the past.
