Olga Maciupa and Paraskewa

9 October 2025

Olga Maciupa was named a finalist for the Gdynia Dramaturgical Award with her play Paraskewa, developed within the NSTDU Laboratory. The final gala took place at the Witold Gombrowicz Municipal Theatre in Gdynia, following a two-stage selection process: from 159 submitted plays, the Jury first shortlisted forty, and from that group selected five finalists.

The main prize was awarded to When the Snow Melts by Katarzyna Mińkowska and Tomasz Walesiak. In connection with the award events, Maciupa expressed her gratitude to director Ewa Platt, the entire theatre ensemble, the Jury, and the audiences for their engagement and support.

A recurring thought in Maciupa’s public remarks concerns the idea of the borderland: she envisions it not as a margin but as a centre and a source of strength—a perspective that informs the context in which Paraskewa reached the finals and frames her ongoing artistic position within contemporary theatre discourse.
