Louise Henry

Translator of Ukrainian into French. Louise Henry is a French and British dual national and was born in Rennes, France, where she studied Russian language (2015-2019). She visited Ukraine for the first time in 2017 and fell in love with the country. After graduating she spent a year living and working in Kyiv, then moved to Paris to do a Master’s in translation. With the onset of the war in 2022, she started working as a translator in the field of journalism, before moving on to literary translation. She now lives in Cherkasy, central Ukraine.

Translator of Tetyana Ogarkova’s and Volodymyr Yermolenko’s Life on the Edge (Життя на межі: Україна, культура та війна), published in Ukraine in 2025 and in France in 2026 (by Éditions Gallimard).
