Maxime Deschanet - a former doctorate student at the National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations (Inalco). His research focuses on Ukrainian Cossacks and Western travelers to Ukraine in modern times. His publications include The Holy Empire and Ukraine, The embassy of Erich Lassota von Steblau to the Cossacks in 1594 (L’Harmattan, 2016). He has also translated from the Ukrainian Kyiv-Paris by Bogdan Obraz (L’Harmattan, 2018) and Happy Naked People by Kateryna Babkina (forthcoming).
