Rory is a multi-award-winning playwright and translator whose work has been produced across the UK and internationally. His plays include Pity and The Wolf from the Door (Royal Court Theatre, London), Saint George and the Dragon (National Theatre, London), Cannibals and Single Sex (Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester), Each Slow Dusk (Pentabus Theatre, UK tour), The Grandfathers (National Theatre Connections/Bristol Old Vic) and Flood (National Youth Theatre). His translations include The Cherry Orchard by Anton Chekhov (Bristol Old Vic/Royal Exchange), The Oresteia by Aeschylus (Shakespeare’s Globe) and Remembrance Day by Aleksey Scherbak (Royal Court). His texts for opera include The Skating Rink (Garsington Opera, music by David Sawer), Coraline (Royal Opera House, music by Mark-Anthony Turnage) and The Way Back Home (English National Opera, music by Joanna Lee).
