Valeriya Kosmidaylo – born in Malyn, Zhytomyr Oblast, grew up in Kyiv. Earned her BA degree in the French language and literature at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Organized French-language students theater at the Institute of Philology. In 2016, won the award for No. 1 Female Role at the French-language Theatre Festival in Odesa (Ukraine). In the summer of 2016, took her cultural internship at the theatre festival in Avignon. Graduated from the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts with MA degree in performing arts. Fluent in French, English and Italian, she has translated a dozen books for KSD and Vivat publishing houses. In 2018, made her debut as a playwright at the Week of Contemporary Play with “Khuytsentrism abo Ugra v Buduari” (“Dick-centrism or Heat in the Boudoir”), and shot a short movie after the same play in late 2021. Artist-in-residence at Teatr Powszechny (Warsaw, Poland) until the end of 2022.
