Vira Makovii

Vira Makovii is a Ukrainian journalist, editor, playwright, and photographer. She holds degrees in Journalism from Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University and Ecumenical Studies from the Ukrainian Catholic University. With extensive experience in media, she has worked as a correspondent for Ukrinform, a news editor for Ukrainian Radio, and Editor-in-Chief for several newspapers, including Culture and Life and Molodist.

Beyond journalism, she has been involved in investigative reporting, screenwriting, and theater, with her plays staged in Kyiv and London. She has participated in international journalism programs, research projects on Ukrainian identity, and photography exhibitions. A passionate traveler and advocate for cultural preservation, she is a member of various social initiatives, including Feminist Ofenzyva and Be Not Indifferent
