Hi, my name is Volodymyr Tuka. I am a veteran of the war waged by Russia against Ukraine.
I am also an actor, a playwright, and, to some extent, a director.
I was born in 1986 in the small town of Nadym. In 1991, my parents decided to return to their homeland, to the city of Kherson, where I attended kindergarten, school, and later graduated from university. For a long time, I worked as a performer in a circus studio, which involved international tours, hotels, and constant travel.
In 2022, just one day before my birthday, I found myself in occupied Kherson. I took an active part in protests against the occupation, singing Ukrainian songs through a megaphone in the city square. Later, I evacuated to Odesa, where I joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and served for one year and nearly two months.
After my discharge, I returned to creative work. With the support of the Theatre of Playwrights, I wrote my first play. It was later staged in two different productions, one at the Kherson Theatre and another at the National Operetta of Ukraine.
Currently, I am working as a playwright and director on my own new text and creating a stage production based on it.
