At the onset of the occupation of Luhansk in 2014, a young woman falls in love with a "little green man" — a Russian soldier — seduced by the illusions of propaganda that glorify Russian culture and portray the occupiers as liberators. However, as the grim reality of the occupation unfolds, she is forced to confront the truth and ultimately flee her hometown.
