A modern political detective story that reimagines the events of Shakespeare’s tragedy in the context of familiar contemporary realities. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern have become hosts of a popular television show, "Lie Detector", where they conduct live journalistic investigations. This time, the well-known hosts announce their intention to uncover the mystery behind the disappearance of Prince Hamlet, which occurred after a series of shocking events that shook the entire nation — the death of Hamlet the Elder, the murder of his adviser Polonius, and the death of Ophelia. The studio guests are King Claudius, Queen Gertrude, and Laertes. As the program unfolds, our understanding of what is really happening — and what the true causes and consequences of these events are — changes several times. Gradually, the events on the show spiral out of control, mirroring the chaos in the country itself. By updating Shakespeare’s plot, the play explores how, in today’s media world, fake news shapes public opinion, blurs the very notion of truth, and distorts our perception of good and evil.
