A seemingly random collection of information gathered around the news that a Russian Topol-M rocket has been fired and will reach the narrator at any moment now. While waiting for the bomb to hit, a woman thinks through certain details of life as it is, including her fear for an innocent Russian cat. “I do not want Russian cats to suffer. That's the limit of my sympathy,” she says.
