Oksana Danchuk

Oksana Danchuk is a cultural expert, theater manager, and dramaturg who specializes in working with texts and themes in theater, though she does not write plays herself. She holds a Master’s degree in Cultural Studies from the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, where she studied at the Faculty of Culture and Arts from 2007 to 2012.

In 2021, she served as the dramaturg for the post-documentary musical 146 Stars Visible to the Naked Eye. The year before, in 2020, she was the dramaturg for the open-air production A Midsummer Night’s Dream, inspired by Shakespeare’s play. Earlier, in 2018, she contributed dramaturgical expertise to the post-documentary performance Horizon 200.

Oksana has also played important roles offstage. In 2015, she coordinated the Literary Festival within the Lviv Book Forum, a major cultural event. Since 2014, she has been the curator of the competition for Ukrainian-language plays called Drama.UA. From 2014 to 2017, she co-founded and managed the platform First Stage of Contemporary Dramaturgy — Drama.UA, which supports new theatrical works. Since 2012, she has been an active member of the Lviv youth NGO Art Workshop Drabyna, continuing to contribute to the cultural life and theatrical landscape of Ukraine through her managerial and dramaturgical work.
