A young man is preoccupied with two things: the beautiful divorcee Raisa and the coming war with Finland (Russo-Finnish War, 1939-40). As they walk and talk and become more intimate, the young man is irritated by the woman's “political naïveté,” but not enough to refuse going back home with her. His grandiose dream of a vicious Finnish attack on Kyiv is just that a dream – but is it one that points to events that will take place 82 years later?
