In early March 2022, amidst the aftermath of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Ukrainian playwright Liudmyla Tymoshenko wrote a monologue titled "My Mother is a Novice." This monologue centers around the author's elderly mother, who, despite her lack of technical knowledge, found an unexpected advantage in her perceived naiveté during the initial days of the Russian occupation. The play captures the author's reflections on her mother's survival and resilience during these challenging times.
